Farm Tours

Experience Trent Hills and a Taste of Life on the Farm!

The Incredible Farm Life Experience Tour

The most unique farm tour in Ontario is planned for Friday, July 12, 2019.   Enjoy four intimate farming experiences where you will learn about the day-to-day lives of our local farmers.  There will be animals to see, local meat and produce to purchase, and interactive activities to experience. Come away with new insights about agriculture and an appreciation for the commitment and hard work of our farming families.

8:30 am – Meet in downtown Campbellford by the Clock Tower building, at the intersection of Saskatoon & Front Streets to board the bus.  Look for the big tents & the bus will be close by.  (Parking is located behind the LCBO in the municipal parking lot.)

9:00 am – Bus departs promptly.

9:15 am – Art Farm  – Produces eggs, chicken, garlic, raspberries, potted greenhouse plants, and a wide variety of vegetables, with an emphasis on salad mixes and greens.  Walk about the Art Farm and experience the beauty that can unfold when art & gardening meet.

10:30 am – Roaming Valley Farm –  Their goal is to raise animals as nature intended, outside and on fresh pasture: where the chickens can peck, scratch, and eat bugs, the cows can roam and graze on fresh grass, and the pigs can run amuck and stay cool in their muddy wallow.  Meet these animals and see how happy farm life can be.

12:00 noon – Enjoy a picnic lunch along the beautiful Trent River.

1:00 pm – Crovalley Holsteins  – A 5th generation, award winning dairy farm who have recently added a robotic, free stall facility, housing 200 cows.  Learn about one approach to futuristic farming, where this high-tech operation provides better cow care with lesser human energy or disturbance to the herd.

2:30 pm – Hoards Station Sale Barn –  Hoards Station has one of the only livestock auctions left in Eastern Ontario.  The Denure Family welcomes you to tour the sale barn and experience the auctioneer’s song through a demonstration of a live auction.

4 pm – Return to Clock Tower at intersection of Saskatoon and Front Street in downtown Campbellford.
